The manipulative News Media!
(Are we part of a herd being moved along?)
Does anyone step back and see/hear what the news media is “Reporting”? I see/hear so many different things coming through the media that I wonder; “JUST WHAT ARE THEY DOING”? The “commercials” that are being pushed at us during the news casts are really “bizarre’!
One of the first things I noticed, when “Krispy Cream doughnuts” opened here in the Seattle area, was that they were on the news cast every day for a minimum of 2 minutes (every news session) a day for three weeks (or longer) before the “Grand Opening” came about. Then they had the News cameras at the grand opening for the first week of the gala event. I’m sure other businesses opened in the area during that time (and sense) but I haven’t seen anything about them. Oh, and some new churches have come into the area also, but no interviews or “publicity” about them.
Also, I do not see very much about State, National, or International News!
Have you noticed that when a “Gay” or “anti-war” group is demonstrating, they show up with their cameras and news people and report “A Large Group” of demonstrators, there are only 10 – 30 present (maybe). But when a big evangelist comes to town there is no mention of 40,000 a day for three days that are at the event?
The Commercials – I don’t know about you but “I catch” the news in the morning (Breakfast) and in the evening (dinner) and I see ‘adds’ for feminine jellies, napkins, male erection problems, and many other things that do nothing for my “digestive system”. Now what is this about? Then they tell you that some of the “news items” may not be suitable to show on T.V.; WHAT!
Now, I know that the news casters are just “Bobble heads” saying what the “Station Owners” are telling them to say so we cannot “Hold them” accountable for their “words”; but does anyone see/hear (or care) what is coming into our homes? Yes, you can turn it off! When you do, then you miss that one time when you need to hear about the Tsunami coming at you.
POSSIBLE solution. Have each “station” that uses the F.C.C. airways, put money in a kitty to fund a “Free Public Broadcasting” station to just put “NEWS & weather” on the air 24/7 (NO COMMERCILAS)! The parties responsible for control of the station would come under a 7 person panel. They would set out guide lines that the director would have to follow. The 7 persons would be rotated every four years (3 at one time, then 4 on the next) every two years). This could be done by a “lottery” system with a reasonable salary.
